Unemployment percentage by country in Europe

 

On the world map, the pink circles represent the unemployment percentage by country. The bigger size of pink circle expresses the lager unemployment percentage. It is very easy to compare the unemployment percentage by country.

For interactivity, when moving the cursor on the pink circles, the country name and unemployment percentage is clearly displayed using red colour.

The dataset is the unemployment percentage by country in Europe from 2006 to 2014. The unemployment data of 42 countries in Europe is utilized. For locating countries on the world map, the data of spatial coordinates (latitude, longitude) of the capitals of each country were produced.

However, on this visualization, only the data unemployment percentage by country in 2006 is displayed. The datasets over time of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 are supposed to be added.

After finishing the final assignment, I know how to use the  interactivity to describe the change of dataset according to the timestamp and make some improvemnts.

The circles shows the unemployment percentage by country in Europe in 2006. When using the slider to choose year 2009 or 2012, the size of circles changes according to the data in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
